Five years ago, I hit a low point in my life…

I realised that I was not being heard in the way that I wanted to be heard, by the people who knew me best i.e. my loved ones and colleagues. So I had to unfold a new narrative.

It’s generally understood that our personalities are a product of our thoughts and feelings which in turn contribute to our beliefs about ourselves and others. However, when we make a conscious effort to bring awareness to our thoughts, we start to live differently. By being more conscious about how we show up in the world, we can start to realise our own potential to influence our environment, moment by moment.

By bringing awareness to our thoughts we can open up new channels which in turn can connect hearts and minds. Thought completes the circle between the invisible world of possibility and the manifested realm of reality.

But we can be ‘used’ by thought – i.e. by the unconscious drivers that in turn shape our behaviours – and so we can find ourselves in repetitive and negative thought cycles. We need to first learn to use thought consciously as a channel for spirit. So, through self-observation, we can contribute to the development of another quality of being, a sense of self-awareness and identification with spirit.

It’s all very well setting goals, but if our vision is not internalised, then we won’t be able to hold ourselves accountable when the going gets tough and our goals seem to be going astray. That’s why we need to focus on values first.

What do you care about?
What is the core of you?

The Greek philosopher Socrates questioned the authorities’ values because he knew that human beings could only really advance if they kept an open mind.

It was only when I worked with a life coach that I realised that I was, quite forgivably, playing to my own limiting beliefs. I had forgotten my infinity and lost my sense of wonder. I felt I was not achieving what I wanted to achieve and so I was setting myself up to fail, instead of looking within to find the answers.

When we look within first we can achieve so much more of what we want to see in the world. It’s often said that those who can dive deepest are able to manifest much more widely. So remember to question what other people around you tell you you should be doing or being; and be careful about how you choose to support yourself so that only the best of the best flows into your life.

Warmly X Elizabeth Rose
